Newsletter Week of April 16th

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my first official weekly newsletter! I want to try and get much more organized, and one of my goals is to try and send out a weekly newsletter to keep you as up to date as possible, and I will also be posting this on my blog each week. Some items will stay every week (like the list of events), and others will only be around for 1 week. Hopefully getting more organized will give me more time to come up with new card & scrapbook ideas for classes! Being the first one, this one is a little on the long side. I will try and shorten it for next time!

Want to earn some free products?
There are two different ways. The most successful way is to host a workshop! All the workshops I’ve done have worked really well. All you have to do is provide a workable area, a few munchies, and some friends! I bring all the materials, and we do a make and take card or scrapbook page (your choice) to introduce your friends to the possibilities of Stampin’ Up! at no cost to you or your friends. Then, if your friends are interested, they place an order from the catalog. Each order adds to your total. The larger the total, the more free product you earn! And, to help you out, get $100 in orders, and I’ll place an additional order myself that counts towards your total! You also get a free copy of the current Idea Book & Catalog. The last 2 workshops landed the lucky hosts over $75 of free product! Let me know a date that works for you.

Another option is to host a catalog party. Although not as successful for the hosts (those familiar with Stampin’ Up! tend to place orders, but most people like to see products before purchasing), a catalog party is still a great way to earn free product without a ton of work. And, get $100 in orders, and I’ll place an additional order as well to top up your totals! Please let me know if you are interested, and I'll get a kit to you right away!

Afraid you don’t know enough people? Ask me for our 40 people in 4 minutes worksheet. I was a bit sceptical, so I gave it a shot, and it works really well! Give me a call, or shoot me an email and we can work out some dates that work for you!

Events:
**NEW** Scrapbooking Day
By popular demand, I will hold the first scrapbooking class Saturday April 28th from 1-5pm
We will make 3 different 12 x 12 layouts that will work for a wide variety of photos (one layout is birthday themed--but who doesn't have birthday pictures??). There will also be plenty of scrap paper left over to make cards after if we have time. The cost for this class will be $20.00 or a $40.00 supply order of your choice from the catalog.
Please RSVP by April 20th as space is limited. (I will try to run a scrapbooking day every other month--pending enough interest. If it gets a lot of regular attendance, we can switch to every month).
If you have a trimmer/paper cutter, feel free to bring it along to reduce your wait time. I will have some on hand, but I do not have enough for everyone.

May Kid Day
Come to the May Kid Day on May 6th from 1-5pm in my home.
Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or neighbours kids.
We will be making mother’s day & father’s day cards (I will also have stamps available for grandma & grandpa if anyone chooses to change things up).
The cost for this class will be $10.00 or a $25.00** supply order of your choice from the catalog.
Please RSVP by April 20th as space is limited.

Specialty Card Class – Resist!
I haven’t determined the final dates yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I can!

Hello My Friend – Use heat embossing as a resist. I taught this once before at an in-home workshop, but its one of my favourite cards and techniques. For those of you that were at Michelle’s, if any of you sign up, I will make sure to change this card up a bit (using the same technique) for you.
Owl Card – Use paint as a resist
Faux Letterpress – Use an embossing folder and some versamark to create a faux letterpress look and then use it as a resist.
