Directions:
1. Cut a piece of the Crumb Cake Cardstock to 8 ½” x 5 ½” for a card base (you can get 2 of these out of 1 – 8 ½” x 11 piece of cardstock) with the paper trimmer.
2. Score the above base at 4 ¼” with the Simply Scored and fold in half to create a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card.
3. Cut a 3 ¾” x 5” piece of the Confetti White Cardstock
4. Arrange the gnomes, sentiment, and background stamps on the E clear block. Ink with Stazon Ink and stamp on the piece of Confetti White Cardstock. Clean the stamps right away on the Stampin’ Scrub (wet with the Stampin’ Mist) as Stazon stains easily.
5. Very quickly, outline each piece of the stamped image with the coloured markers, using the blender pen to draw the colour in to the centre of the image (work in small areas at a time, the fresher the marker line, the better it works). Work in one colour at a time.
6. Cut a 10” piece of the ribbon. Attach on the back at each end, cut and tie slightly off-centre. Attach the decorated piece to the card front.
7. Stamp happy anniversary and many more to come on the inside of the card using the stazon ink (remember to clean the stamp right away).

Notes:
Stazon works best for this as its permanent ink and won’t bleed with the blender pen as easily.
Between colours, use a scrap piece of paper to clean off the blender pen.

Directions:
1. Cut a piece of the Crumb Cake Cardstock to 8 ½” x 5 ½” for a card base (you can get 2 of these out of 1 – 8 ½” x 11 piece of cardstock) with the paper trimmer.
2. Score the above base at 4 ¼” with the Simply Scored and fold in half to create a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card.
3. Cut a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” piece of the striped pink paper in the Patterns Stack using the paper trimmer.
4. Cut 2 pieces of 1” x 8 ½” paper from the Pretty in Pink Cardstock. Score every ¼” along the length of both pieces. Fold back and forth along the score lines to create an accordion with both pieces. Glue together to create a circle and set aside to dry.
5. Stamp the heart circle stamp on the Whisper White Cardstock in Crumb Cake. Set aside to dry.
6. Cut a piece 1” x 2 ¾” from the Whisper White Cardstock. Using the brush tip of the Basic Black Marker, colour the words “so happy I found” of the stamp from the Totally A-maze-ing stampset and stamp on the paper along the top approx. 1” from the edge. Colour the word “You” of the stamp from the Loving Thoughts stampset. Cut the end of the piece to create a banner using the 1” square punch on a 45 degree angle. Ink the edges in Crumb Cake with the Stamping Sponge.
7. Punch a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock and add glue around the full circle. Take the accordion paper circle and gently push the top edge towards the centre. Once the accordion flower is created, gently shuffle onto the circle of glue. Set the punch on top, upside down to hold in place while it dries.
8. Glue the rectangular piece of patterned paper to the front of the card.
9. Glue the banner with the wording on the card.
10. Punch the heart circle out of the white cardstock. Add glue to the back. Put on the accordion flower and put the punch on top again to hold in place while it dries.
11. Glue the accordion circle to the card with the heart circle attached. Colour in the centre heart with the Dazzling Details. Set aside to dry.

Directions:
1. Cut a piece of the Confetti White (or Basic Black) Cardstock to 8 ½” x 5 ½” for a card base (you can get 2 of these out of 1 – 8 ½” x 11 piece of cardstock) with the paper trimmer.
2. Score the above base at 4 ¼” with the Simply Scored and fold in half to create a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card.
3. Cut a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” piece of the Night of Navy (or Real Red) cardstock using the paper trimmer.
4. Arrange the Dress, Congratulations, and on your engagement stamps on the block. Ink with Versamark Ink and stamp on the Night of Navy (or Real Red) piece.
5. Cover the Versamark ink with the embossing powder. Tap off the excess and heat with the heat tool.
6. Stamp the heart stamp on the mini vintage tag in Night of Navy or in Real Red.
7. Cut a piece of the So Saffron ribbon approx. 8” long. Run a length of snail adhesive across the front of the card & attach the end to the back side of the card close to the edge with snail adhesive on both sides. Snip the ribbon where you want the knot. Loop the Mini Vintage Tag and attach by tying the knot (shorten the twine on the mini vintage tag). Snip the ends of the ribbon on an angle.
8. Attach the stamped piece to the card front.

Notes:
In the Basic Black card you may want to attach a piece of lighter coloured cardstock so that you can write on the inside. Or you can use a white or light coloured metallic pen instead.

Directions:
1. Cut a piece of the Baja Breeze Cardstock to 5 ¼” x 10 ½” for a card base (you can get 2 of these out of 1 – 12 x 12 piece of cardstock plus scraps) with the paper trimmer.
2. Score the above base at 5 ¼” with the Simply Scored and fold in half to create a 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” card.
3. Cut a piece of 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of the Confetti White cardstock using the paper trimmer.
4. Stamp the cake stamp from the Love & Laughter stamp set on a piece of Whisper White (you need a piece approx. 2” x 2” – a great way to use scraps!) in Melon Mambo.
5. Using the paper scissors, cut around the cake leaving a small amount of space around the edge.
6. Take the Stampin’ Sponge, and ink the edges of the cake in Melon Mambo.
7. Punch 1 heart out of the dotted Melon Mambo pattern paper & 1 heart out of the Basic Gray cardstock. Adhere with snail adhesive to the cake.
8. Cut a piece of ribbon approx. 8 ½” long. Adhere the edges to the back of the piece of Confetti White at the edge and then adhere the rest of the ribbon to the card using the snail adhesive. Cut towards the top and tie in a knot. Cut the ends of the ribbon on a 45 degree angle.
9. Adhere the cut-out cake to the piece of Confetti White using the Stampin dimensionals.
10. Adhere the piece of Confetti White to the card base using Snail Adhesive.
11. Stamp the Forever & Always stamp from the Loving Thoughts set in Basic Gray on the inside of the card.

Directions:
1. Using the paper cutter, cut the 12” x 12” whisper white paper to create two cards 10” x 5”. Score in the middle using the Simply Scored to create the fold.
2. Cut a 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of whisper white. Cut a 5” x 5” piece and a 4 ¼” x 1” piece of Old Olive Cardstock.
3. Ink the Medallion Stamp with Versamark ink and stamp on the 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of white. Add the gold embossing powder to the stamped image.
4. Heat the paper with the heat tool being careful to keep moving the paper around so it doesn’t burn (hint – sticky notes work really well as a “handle”) until the embossing powder turns metallic.
5. Ink the edges of the 5” x 5” piece of Old Olive cardstock using Chocolate Chip.
6. Mount the embossed piece on the 5” x 5” piece of Old Olive cardstock.
7. Take the 4 ¼” x 1” piece of Old Olive cardstock and stamp the sentiment using the Many Merry Messages set in Basic Black. Take the sponge and ink the edges in Chocolate Chip. Mount on the card using dimensional adhesive.

A few notes:
To clean the stamp off, spray the wet side (look for the rain drops) of the Stampin’ Scrub with Stampin’ Mist, then dry on the other side (look for the small umbrella)
To get your embossing powder back in the jar, use the powder pals underneath when you pour the embossing powder.

Directions:

4. Cut a 5 ½” x 1” piece of Rich Razzleberry.
5. Attach the ink piece (once dry) to the cardfront and add the piece of Red Razzleberry below using Snail adhesive.

A few notes:
To clean the letterpress plate off, use Stampin’ Mist with a piece of paper towel.
Only Craft Stampin’ Spots can be used on the letterpress plates. Classic ink will bead and dry too quickly.

Directions:
1. Using the paper cutter, cut the 8 1/2” x 11” paper in half to create two cards 8 ½” x 5 ½”. Score in the middle using the Simply Scored to create the fold.
2. Cut 3 pieces of 2 ½” x 1 ¾” and 1 piece of 2 ½” x 2 ½” white cardstock, a 3” x 3” piece of Marina Mist and a 5” x 3 ¾” piece of Early Espresso cardstock using the paper cutter.
3. Take the 3 piece of 2 ½” x 1 ¾” white cardstock and stamp the ornament shape from the Tags Til Christmas set on each piece in Real Red Ink.
4. Using the Ornament punch, cut the 3 stamped pieces out.
5. Using the Simply Scored, score each stamped piece in the centre to create a fold.
6. Glue the 3 stamped pieces together back to back on the folded sides with snail adhesive to create the 3-D ornament. Using a small piece of the twine, create an ornament hook and attach with the snail adhesive.
7. Mount the 2 ½’ x 2 ½” piece of white cardstock on the cut piece of Marina Mist. Centre the 3-D ornament in the centre of the white cardstock and mount with snail adhesive.
8. Mount the Early Espresso on the white card front with snail adhesive. Add the mounted ornament in the top half.
9. Stamp a greeting on the inside of the card in Early Espresso using the Many Merry Messages Set.

A few notes:
To clean the stamp off, spray the wet side (look for the rain drops) of the Stampin’ Scrub with Stampin’ Mist, then dry on the other side (look for the small umbrella)

Directions:
1. Using the paper cutter, cut the 8 1/2” x 11” paper in half to create two cards 8 ½” x 5 ½”. Score in the middle using the Simply Scored to create the fold.
2. Cut the Melon Mambo Designer Dot Paper to a 4” x 5 ¼” size.
3. Ink the Snow Burst Embossing Folder with the Versamark Ink Pad (Ink the side with the snowflakes indented). Place the cut Melon Mambo paper inside the folder.
4. Place the embossing folder on the Big Shot Pad and run through the Big Shot (I like to run it a few times to make sure the ink gets on really well).
5. Take the paper out of the embossing folder. Put the clear embossing powder on the ink side (it won’t stick otherwise) and make sure its covered (it will appear white).
6. Heat the paper with the heat tool being careful to keep moving the paper around so it doesn’t burn (hint – sticky notes work really well as a “handle”)
7. Once the embossing powder turns clear, use your sponge to rub Basic Grey ink on. The best part is that the ink won’t stick to the embossing powder giving you a two tone colour.
8. Take a 5” x 1” piece of white cardstock for the greeting. Stamp the greeting down (leaving the stamp off-centred). Cut one end in the square punch on the diagonal to create the angled tails. Fold the opposite end to wrap it around the Melon Mambo paper and attach with snail adhesive approx. ½” from bottom of Melon Mambo.
9. Attach Melon Mambo paper to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few notes:
Don’t forget to clean the embossing folder off. I find Stampin’ Mist sprayed on a paper towel works quite well.

Sometime last fall, I saw Kelly Purkey's list of things she wanted to do in the next year. And at the time I thought it was a great idea. This is the list I made (and an update on how I did):
1. Go on a trip - We went to sunny Florida in January! I also went to Ottawa for a few days in August, and Haliburton for a few days last week with some friends!
2. Finish the online courses you are already registered for. - Fail. I'm horrible for signing up, making it through the first few and then falling behind. But I'm still trying!
3. Take a photography course - Fail. See #2!
4. Go to Scrapfest (spring or summer, it doesn’t matter which) - Fail. Just bad timing this year. But I'm going to try again next year.
5. Find creative ways to save money. - A work in progress. This will always be a work in progress. Right now I'm getting the hang of the couponing thing. Trying my best to do as well as possible.
6. Take another scrapbooking course (in person, not online). - Fail. But only because there hasn't been one at my LSS when I've been available.
7. Go to the drive-in for the first time. - Fail. Hopefully next summer!
8. Go to Boldt Castle. - Fail. Hopefully next summer again.
9. Start a vegetable garden. - Success. In fact, its October, and I picked over 80 tomatoes again tonight. I also learned how to can veggies (we were a little overloaded at times!)
10. Teach Boss to lay down by handsignal only. - Fail. Boss' training has not been so great lately. Got to get on this!
11. Go to another concert. - Success! When I was in Ottawa, I went to a 3 day concert, the Capitol Hoedown. Let's just say, Carrie Underwood, singing Paradise City was FANTASTIC!!!!
12. Do some form of exercise for 30 minutes every day. - Fail. Really big fail. But I started a new job, much more physical, and I'm doing my best to make it work.
13. Buy dining room hutch, pay cash. - Fail. Because too many other expenses came up. But I'm going to do my best to save for this over the winter.
14. Take a Zumba class. - Sort of fail. I didn't make it to a class. But I did by Zumba for Wii. And then I only used it once. Really need to get back to this!
15. Write 1 blog post a week - Ummm....FAIL. Really bad!
16. Submit layouts to manufacturers websites/magazines - Did try a few times. Need to keep trying. Practise makes perfect, right?
17. Get sewing machine set up. - It's set up. But I need to find the manual so I can remember how to thread it!
18. Plan our next trip. - Sort of fail. More like on hold. With starting a new job, I don't really have vacation time until January. I'm thinking Nashville. T doesn't travel well, but that's one place he's always wanted to go. I'm thinking I could probably talk my sister into it too, although her other half also doesn't travel often, and definitely not a country fan (T & I would want to go to the Grand Ole Oprey)
19. Sign up for twitter – and use it. - Success. Kind of. I did sign up. I don't log in often, as I just don't have time. Probably once a week or so.
20. Read Nomad. - Success! And it was good, just not as good as the first book.
21. Create a long term bucket list. - Fail. Unless you count the one that's always kind of forming in my head.
22. Create a card per month for Mom’s Christmas present. - Success. More than 1 a month. I'm actually starting to get better at cards :)
23. Work on Mattie & Haylee’s mini album once a month. - Fail. But only because I didn't really have pictures for a while. I have lots now, and I do have the albums sitting in my office, just waiting!
24. Redo the main bathroom. - Fail. Too many other projects around the house, and this got put on hold.
25. Redo our bedroom. - Fail. See #24.
26. Try a new restaurant in Kingston. - Success. Went to Casa last week for a goodbye lunch with one of my former bosses.
27. Spend a day at the beach this summer. - Fail. But I was on the beach in Florida (and really--we have a pool in the yard).
28. Learn to make pie crust. - Fail. I haven't even tried yet. I will, someday!
29. Eat less processed foods. - Success. The garden helps with this one!
30. Go to Walt Disney World. - Success! We went when we were in Florida, it was great, and I can't wait to go back when we have kids!

Well, I didn't get everything, but that's ok. I just turned 31 (and I didn't make this list for a few months after my 30th birthday), and I'm just going to rewrite this, and add some to total up to 31. I really liked having some written goals and looking back on them!

The last Groupon I bought was $8 for $20 worth of bakery product from our local bakery (and it was awesome!!). Groupon has been expanding which is great for us Canadians! Hello!
I'm so, so sorry! I'm a whole one and a half month from my New Years Revolution, and I've already managed to miss a whole ton of posts! But, we went on vacation to Florida (which was awesome! especially after leaving -30 celsius weather!). And then I got sick. Another lung infection (I now get 1-2 a year) and have been busy with work. I'm just starting to feel better now!
One of the things I want to start doing on this blog is not only showing my creative work (which lets face it, I'm not great at posting -- the funny thing is I actually scrapbook a LOT!), but I am also trying to get better at budgeting my money, and I know that's hard for everyone, but in the last year, I've gotten better and better, mostly by reading what others are doing from their blogs. If you look, you'll see that I've added a new list of blogs I read to the side under the category "Frugal Blogs". I hope these help you as much as they've helped me!

Photo Tray

A few months ago, right after we lost my grandfather, I took a new Vicki Boutin class on the 7 gypsies printers tray. This is the result of that class:

This tray uses a ton of 7 gypsies product, along with some miscellaneous pieces from other companies such as pink paislee (sorry, but they were part of the class kit). My grandfather was a bee keeper, and bee keeping was his passion, so when I saw the bee in the bottom right hand corner, I knew that this had to be for family photos and needed to revolve around him (I ended up giving this to my grandmother for Christmas -- I don't often give away my crafty products, but I figured this was a special occasion!). I absolutely loved this project (and I've always loved Vicki's classes -- if you ever get a chance to take one of her classes, do it! They are worth every penny).
Then, I decided to recreate the project and make it different as a Christmas present for my Mom (who mistakenly believes that me making her something costs me less than me buying her something, but I love the fact she wants me to do this for her--it builds my confidence in sharing what I've done--so I let her go on believing :) )
I started with Tim Holtz alcohol inks on the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection:

I've never used alcohol inks before, probably didn't use them for what they were intended, but I LOVE the effect!!!!

In addition to Tim Holtz alcohol inks & the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection, I used letters from Pink Paislee & American Crafts Thickers for the title, Making Memories for the two ribbon embelishments, Tim Holtz clock, Pink Paislee die cuts, Prima flowers, bird & felt, American Crafts Dear Lizzy brads, Making Memories for the "S", Sassafrass cork die cuts, Glimmer Mist, Distress Ink, 7 Gypsies tray, and I believe the bee is from 7 Gypsies.

So sorry that this is my first blog post in so long. We lost two very important members of our family back to back this summer, and in all honesty, I just lost interest in keeping up on my blog. But I'm back, and one of my New Years goals is to attempt to post once a week.
Another reason for the long time in between posts was the newest addition to our family, our Bullmastiff, Boss!

This photo is with our cat, Tess in front of our Christmas tree -- before Boss destroyed $100 worth of ornaments (the first destructive thing he's done in the 6 months we've had him) and he & Tess began eating Christmas lights. Which after stepping on broken glass, and having no working lights, we spent about 4 hours on Boxing Day stripping the lights off our prelit tree. I will never buy a prelit tree again!

Well, I think that's it for tonight. I will have a scrappy post for you in the next few days!

First post in a LONG time

This is my first post in a VERY long time! First off, this is my first digi layout in a few months! All papers use Designs by Angels Pass, Trap, Goal kit. Design concept by Elizabeth Dillow for Big Picture Scrapbooking. The cute little girl is my goddaughter Haylee at her first birthday party in July (she is extremely tired in these photos!).

Secondly, the reason for the very long delay, is that we have moved out to the country (so no more nosey neighbours!!!). We also got a dog, a 3 1/2 year old bullmastiff named Boss (which suits him, because at about 140 lbs. he is Boss)! Stopping him from chasing the cat is a full time job in its own (she is partially to blame--waiting to run until he's less than an inch from your face does make it seem like a game!).

Anyhow, I think this is it for now. I'm on holidays this week, and I've been painting my house like crazy, but took a break from painting today.

Christmas Jubilee

I decided to take part in the recipe exchange over at Jessica Turner's blog, so here are my favorites:

WHIPPED SHORTBREAD
1 lb of salted BUTTER (not margarine)
1 cup of icing sugar
3 cups of flour.
Candied Cherries to garnish

Whip the butter, add the icing sugar and flour. Drop by teaspoon on the cookie sheet (ungreased) and top with 1/2 a cherry.Bake @ 300 for 20 minutes.

And my personal favorite (and one that I've yet to find anyone else that makes them except my mom...these squares are a hit wherever I take them!):

CHRISTMAS JUBILEE
1 1/4 cups flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup margarine
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups salted mixed nuts
1 1/2 cups candied cherries --red and green (cut in half)
1 cup chocolate chips.
CRUST:1/3 cup of brown sugar (save the other 1/3c)flour and margarine. Mix well and press into jelly roll pan.(I use a glass 9 x 13 dish) Bake 350 for 15 minutes.
TOP:Combine remaining ingredients and put on crust. Bake an additional 20 minutes at 350.

Lots of new things today. First off, Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day! :)

Then, the first two layouts are done using the new Designs By Angel's kit "Three French Hens". There was a challenge over at Faith Sisters using this kit, and then it will be in her store after word. Happy Thanksgiving!

We just finished our first Thanksgiving meal this weekend -- 2 more to go!

Designs by Angel has come out with a new kit, Handmade Halloween, and I just happen to have some Halloween photos from our recent camping trip (the campground we were at has a Halloween party every year on the Labour Day weekend -- which we didn't find out until we got there -- and the kids that are staying there go trick or treating).

21 Day Challenge

So after getting sick, I took Friday, Saturday, & Sunday off. Got back into the swing of things yesterday with a 35 minute workout at the gym in the morning, and then an hour (+ warmup) of volleyball last night (and it was much more intense then Beach Volleyball was!). Got up again this morning, and squeezed in a half hour at the gym. So this brings me up to Day 7 (if you jump over my sick days)!

Sicker then a dog (well not really, but sick) so the 21 day challenge is on hold (and I was doing so good!!!), the backup plan is a little difficult when you are so stuffed up its difficult to breathe, so just taking it easy until I'm feeling a little bit better (and trying to avoid another lung infection!).

Did this layout using Angel's Duo kit (see previous post for links) with Project B. So sorry that summer is over, and winter is on its way :( This layout is for my family reunion album that I am madly trying to finish today (whether it will happen or not, I don't know).

Hopefully the backup plan won't be necessary!

21 Day Challenge

Over at Rhonna Farrer's blog she is hosting the 21 day challenge. The idea is that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. This is something I need desparately. I used to be pretty good at working out all the time, but I hit a rut last year, and its been increasingly more difficult to get with it (and I have way less energy!). It is really important that I work out, not only because of weight, but for other health reasons, in particular my back. I can always tell when I haven't been working out because I am in pain! So, this is day 1 of my 21 day challenge. I want to do some physical activity every day for at least 1/2 an hour. This morning I went to the gym for an hour (finally getting some use out of that membership again!). Not something I can normally do, but 1/2 an hour is attainable! And I figure if I make myself post my activity on my blog, then I'm also held responsible by all that read this blog. So here marks Day 1!

OK, so I haven't quite finished my family reunion album, but with the Beautiful Evidence course (which I've changed up the topic from me to my Family Reunion) at its completion, our last topic was the album covers. This time I decided to forgo the templates Jessica provided (which were beautiful) all because I wanted to fill in the word FAMILY with our group shots. I really like the outcome, and I'm glad I decided to step out of the box.

Sorry I can't do a two page spread side by side. My computer seems to be running out of memory and now squeaks like a mouse (its about 5 years old, so I guess I understand that its probably just about toast!). Labour Day Weekend

Got back from camping yesterday (great weather & company!), and from celebrating our (very excited) god daughters birthday. Apparently, when I signed up for Jessica Sprague's Brushabilities Course, I was thinking ahead, and I signed up for the Beautiful Evidence Class at the same time, which should come in real handy since I have over 100 photos of my recent family reunion!

I'm sure you are going to see many more layouts as I work on the album (well, you are guaranteed at least a few--this course is all about getting it done--20 layouts in total!) The class kit was used for this one.

It's been a long day! I finally got some sleep last night, and then today ended up being less then productive. Oh well! We are debating selling the house, and "upgrading" to the country, so we are trying to work on it, but neither one of us could get going today despite our best efforts. So other then some reorganizing, not much got done. But we went and saw my future SIL's house that she just sold (Great Job N!), went for a quiet dinner at Moxies, came home, and while I was editing my friend Steph's wedding photos, realized I had forgotten to do my assignment for swim school at Scrapable. Got my layout done in time (see the cute little one above? that's my new god daughter Haylee!), and now its time for bed!

I'm trying to get better at updating my blog, working on my CT assignments, and just in general taking time for the hobby I love (scrapbooking in case you couldn't guess!) and the people that I love. At one time, I couldn't imagine doing anything other then working on my career, but now, I just want to enjoy the rest of my life!
At the end of June, our friend from college, Steph, married Brent (who I met for the first time at the wedding -- the things that happen when you don't live in the same town!!!). I've been working on editing the photos that I took that weekend as I've been doing the photo editing class at JessicaSprague.com. I finished the good to great workflow self-paced course yesterday (actually, I started it yesterday too, couldn't do much else as the nerve in my back was acting up!!), and loved it!!!! It is absolutely amazing how different a photo can look with just two minutes of work! I started her new photo editing course tonight, and am already loving the results!
The photo above is of Steph's twin sister Anna & a friend. The mask and word art are from House of 3 (part of our course materials--word art is recoloured, as the old colours didn't show up on the dresses). I can't wait to see what is in store tomorrow!

The little girl in the photo, my goddaughter Mattingly, is now a big sister!! Last night Haylee Lorne decided to join us (on her due date), two days after Mommy's birthday, and two days before Daddy's birthday!! You'll probably see layouts of this little one soon!
And, our friend Steph from College got married this weekend in Toronto (which is why the revisions to the last post were delayed). It was great to see her, her fiance Brent, and visit with our friend Amanda, and her other half Les.

Here are two new layouts using Designs By Angel's new kit (just released!) Tiny Tumblers. These layouts are hybrid layouts (film photos, digi layout), and Gymnastics uses a template by Jen Caputo (modified to suit my 2 photos in place of 3) and Stars of their own Show uses a template by Patty Knox at Designer Digitals (again slightly modified). You will have to excuse the bad photos, the weather is rainy here, and I can't seem to get any great natural light to take pictures of the layouts.

Am I ever bad at keeping up to date blogging! Seeing as we are almost to the end of January, and I haven't posted since before Christmas!
Nothing too exciting though. I've been watching all the sites for updates on the new scrapbook products coming out at CHA -- lot of great stuff! Really excited about the new cartridges for the Slice (Making Memories) seeing as I bought one for myself!
I've been keeping up on my cake decorating course. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but I have to admit, I have been having a blast...so much fun, that I'm actually on the second course now, and I'm signed up for the third! Lots of ideas floating around in my head....
I've been doing online courses through jessicasprague.com for digi scrapping and I think I've found a new hobby (to add to the regular scrapbooking, the volleyball, the cake decorating, and aquafit....I might be taking on a bit much!). I love the speed, and it is definitely economical. Jessica definitely has the course set up in a great way that is easy to follow-worth every penny!
Well I think that is it for now...trying to stay inside, in the warm and away from the 6" of snow outside!

Nutcracker & trucks

Last night I went to see the Nutcracker Ballet with my Aunt. It was a great show with some fabulous dancers (including some very cute little girl ballerinas who were sometimes not quite perfectly in sync which made them even cuter)! One thing we did agree on though --we should have reread the story (or at least gotten a program) before seeing the ballet! It was a really great show, and I had lots of flashbacks from when I went with Grams.
Tomorrow we are going truck shopping in Richmond (depending on the weather) for Trev. With a little side trip to IKEA in Ottawa (YAY!).

So I didn't win the Lotto 649 (big surprise I know!). So I've been trying to add a Flickr Album to my blog to show my scrapbooking pages, and it is working, but just not the way I wanted (you can't scroll through them, or fit them in the little square). I think for now I will just leave it, but I will have to try again some other time. Anyone have any ideas to make this work just right????
